French Honor Society

 

 

The Société Honoraire de Français (SHF) is a nationally recognized honor society for excellent high school students enrolled in French and is sponsored by the American Association of Teachers of French (AATF). The purpose of the society is to recognize high achievement of high school students in the French language and to promote a continuing interest in French and Francophone studies.

French Honor Society Eligibility Requirements:

As a member of the Société Honoraire de Français, the student agrees to maintain all of the requirements of eligibility.  He/She should understand that to become a member:

1.   He/She must have completed the first semester of French 2.

2.  He/She must have maintained an “A” average in French.

3. He/She must attend the induction ceremony for the Société Honoraire de Français or he/she will not be offered membership.

Additionally, as a member of the Société Honoraire de Français at Heritage High School, he/she agrees that he/she must participate in the following ways:

  1. He/She must attend meetings regularly.
  2. He/She must participate in at least one  fundraising event each year.
  3. He/She must participate in BOTH community service projects each year.
  4. He/She must attend the French Honor Society Induction Ceremony for new members.

Graduating senior members will earn official Société Honoraire de Français graduation cords if they are considered an active member.
