Welcome to Plato Credit Recovery
Are You Behind In Credits Or Need To Make Up a Low Grade For A-G?
Students have the opportunity to take a class online through credit recovery to make up credits or for a higher grade. Please remember the classes on credit recovery are difficult to get through (not impossible) but they do require time, consistency, and dedication. It typically takes the average student anywhere between 25-40 hours to complete one semester class through credit recovery.
Important to Know Before You Begin a Credit Recovery Class:
The deadline for all Credit Recovery classes is 5/31/2024. After this date, classes will be locked and progress will be lost. No Exceptions!!!!
How Do I Get Started?
Step 1: Talk To Your Counselor And Find Out What Class(es) You Need
If you need multiple classes, decide with your counselor which one you should start first. You can only work on one class at a time. If you have multiple classes to complete, manage your time wisely to complete them before the deadline - May 31, 2024.
Step 2: Review and Sign the Credit Recovery Syllabus
To access the Plato Syllabus click here. You must read and understand the policies as set forth in the Syllabus. Then you and your parent/guardian must complete the acknowledgement form. The link to the acknowledgement form is at the end of the syllabus.
Step 3: Report to the Classroom Teacher for your Class
Each subject is assigned a teacher in the after school credit recovery program. Please report to that teacher for your subject on the day of the week and time listed below. Do not interrupt their classes during the day for Plato questions. You can send them an email. You must arrive within the first 15 minutes of the after school session and all students must check-in when they arrive.

Step 4: Get to Work On Your Class
Tutorials, Mastery Tests, Discussions, Unit and Course Activities, Unit Post Tests, and End of Semester Tests are all mandatory. Incomplete classes will not be graded. Remember to treat a credit recovery class like another class on your schedule. If you use this strategy- you will get done with the class in a timely manner and be more successful.
Pre-tests, Unit Post tests, and End of Semester Exams must be taken in a Credit Recovery class with supervision of your assigned teacher. Tutorials and Mastery Tests can be done independently anywhere with Internet access. If you fail a Mastery Test, you may retake the test by watching the Tutorial again. Watching the Tutorial again will unlock the Mastery Test so you can retake it for a higher score. Discussions, Unit Activities, and Course activities can be done independently anywhere with Internet access.
What Happens When I Finish a Class?
Step 1: Go See the Credit Recovery Teacher
Go see the credit recovery teacher and ask them to grade your discussions and activities. You must do this to get your activities graded. Teachers do not get notified that you need them graded otherwise. Please do not disturb then during the the school day. If you are having an issue - email them directly. Teachers will only grade during the following days/times:

Step 2: Get the Class Graded
Once all of your activities are graded, email your teacher and ask them to run your grade for the course. You must do this to get the class on your transcript! It does not automatically happen when you are done.
Step 3: Email your Counselor
After your class is graded please send an email to your counselor to let him or her know you have completed the class in credit recovery. Remember: The deadline for all credit recovery classes is 5/31/2024. After this date, classes will be locked and progress will be lost- even those that are completed but the final grade was never run!! Check your transcript to make sure your class was added and credits assigned.
