Hello and welcome to our awesome PUHSD family and specifically Heritage high school economics class. My name is Mario Moreno and I will be your guide in learning all about economics for this one semester course. I hope you had a good summer and I’m excited to get all of you seniors off to a great start to earning your required economics credits and graduating high school!
Sometimes in life we are handed tough or adverse situations that we must deal with and often overcome. Maintaining a positive attitude and being willing to adjust to new things is key to any successful transition and growth. An online format was a bit adverse for me, however I chose to adapt, as you did, and we made it work. It may take a bit to get back in the groove of things, but I am happy and excited to be back all the way live and that's no jive! I am here for you and strive to help you thrive in this course and in your lives!
I’d like to share a little about myself. I was raised in various cities across Southern California. I received an associate’s degree in Liberal Studies at Cerritos Community College where I also wrestled and played football. I received my bachelor’s degree in political science from San Francisco State University, where I also wrestled, was an audio visual assistant, pre-law advisor, and served as an intern probation officer for San Francisco Juvenile Probation Department. I began teaching in PUHSD in 2000 and have since received a master’s degree in Educational Administration from Cal State San Bernardino. Along the way I have coached football, wrestling, volleyball, baseball, softball, tennis, track & field, golf, cross-country, and soccer. I absolutely love helping and encouraging others so teaching / coaching has been a blessing.
I look forward to working with you all.
